Senior Pictures

Yesterday I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot with Alec for his Senior Pictures. He is an amazing musician so most of the pictures include him with his base. It was a great shoot and I think the pictures turned out great! Thanks Alec!

Our boy is back

Luke has been so fussy lately due to another ear infection. I thought he was just fussy from teething or the introduction of solids but it turns out he was suffering from a major ear infection AGAIN! Anyway, now that he is on antibiotics he is back to his happy "go lucky self." Here are some fun pictures of my cute little man! He is loves eating solids...as you can see!

49

49 follow up

Over the past few weeks Addy has got it in her head that everyone and anyone who has a birthday is 49 years old. I have no idea where she picked this up from. I tried telling her that she is actually 2 years old but she insists that she is 40 or 49 years old. Its pretty hysterical.

After Addy's second birthday I saw a real change in her. She is talking in sentences and can express herself rather well for her age. My biggest concern as of late is her major attachment anxiety that she is going through. She has been SUPER clingy to me lately. When I am holding her she even asks "Mommy? Mommy?" I mean its nice to know she loves me, but seriously I need a little space every once in a while. I was thinking maybe she just needed more alone time with mommy so I have been trying to give her that...hopefully it eases her fears about me leaving her. It does not help the matter when poor Luke has been super fussy this past week and it turns out he has yet ANOTHER ear infection! That is the 6th ear infection in his 6 short months of life. Is this little guy ever going to go through a month and not be sick? Poor guy!

That gets me thinking I can't believe Luke is already 6 months old. He now weighs in at 19lbs 8oz and is 27 inches long. It won't be long now before he passes up his older sister. He is huge! I defiantly don't feel bad if I don't get to go the gym every day because for as much as this guy wants to be held I get a good work out. Luke's personality has really started to come out this past month. He loves his sister to death! He lights up in smiles every time he sees her smiling face. It is so cute to see them together. Addy loves her little brother. Last month when Luke was learning to roll over, Addy would practice for him to show him how to do it. It was so funny. He is rolling all over the room now. The boy moves fast. The other day we were at Splash City with some friends and Luke almost rolled right off the chair. I have to keep a close eye on this one.

On another note... it has been 16 days now since I had my last Coke! I feel the need to report this because I can't believe I have made it this long. I actually feel great and don't see myself going back to my addiction anytime soon. I seriously was addicted! James and I have also given up all processed sugar, meat, and dairy products for 21 days. Its a semi-cleanse. We are supposed to also give up gluten products as well but I couldn't give up bread. At least I am cutting it out as much as I can. It has been a really great thing for us. We both feel great and hopefully this will lead into some new more committed healthy eating habits. I mean we do pretty well but we both have a weakness for sweets. We actually took one day off on Fathers day and I regretted it as soon as I got home from dinner.  I ate two pieces for yummy ice cream cake and was paying for it all night long with major stomach aches. Oh well...won't be doing that anytime soon.

Now we are just focusing on packing up our house and making the big move. More on that to come.

Home Improvements

Ok so we are planning our big move and I need some advice...

1. Does anyone recommend a good moving company? I really want to use a company that other people recommend. I am little nervous about the whole process. We have looked into Self Moves USA, ABF and Pods. If anyone has used these companies or any others they would suggest using please let me comment.

2. I am looking for a good painter/carpenter in Utah. I have a few projects that I want to do the house and I wanted to see if anyone knew anyone out in Utah that can do them for us. Please comment...

3. Has anyone re-carpeted or put new flooring in their house? If so what company did you use? We are trying to price out a few places right now so if anyone had a great experience and wants to share please do!

Dear Friends

Last but not least...while I was visiting DC I had the chance to visit with some dear old friends. We had been out of touch for a long time so it was so nice to catch up with them. Fatima and the girls have a special place in my heart and they always will. While visiting with them and my dear friend Elizabeth, I watched Fatima's girls interact with my little ones. They were so sweet with Addy and Luke. I am so glad we had a chance to get together. I vow never to lose touch with them again!

Girl Time

This post is dedicated to all of my sweet cousins. While I was in DC we had the rare opportunity to get all of the girl cousins together and go to dinner. I had such a great time catching up with everyone. Even though our lives have gone in a bunch of different directions it was nice to know that when we get together we can pick up right where we left off. I also was so glad to be able to see my cousin Elizabeth, who's brother Rob Miller passed away unexpectedly last month. We will all miss him so much. Elizabeth, if you are reading this, know that you will always ALWAYS be Aunt Elizabeth to my little ones! And to Robby, we love you and we miss you!

Welcome Summer

While we were in DC we had the opportunity to brake out the baby swimming pool for an afternoon. It was so much fun for Addy. Luke and I enjoyed watching her splash around. Oh we are so happy Summer is FINALLY here!

While we were in DC we had the opportunity to visit with Nana a few times. I am so blessed that Nana had the chance to spend some time with the kids. She is so sweet. Addy and Nana are two of a kind. Their love for flowers and sensitivity toward others is the same.  Luke did great with Nana as well. He sat with her and was as content as can be. Oh I was just in heaven, watching my little angels with one of the greatest people I know!
