This past week we were blessed to be surrounded by both sides of our family for little Luke's baby blessing. It was such a special event. Here are some pictures of the day. I don't think he enjoyed the hat at all!

While here in DC I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Tiffany and Albert. I will say it was a privilege to photograph such a beautiful couple. They were so obviously in love and super easy to photograph! Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day!

Oh my goodness... I can't believe my little girl is 2 years old! Where have these past two years gone? It has been an amazing adventure with this little spunky red head and I have a feelilng she will keep me on my toes for years to come! Here are a few pictures of the past year with Addy. She is my favorite little girl in the whole world. Everyday she teaches me something new. She talks constantly and is now learning plurals and sentences. She loves reading books and if you test her most of the time she can recite the book back to you. She loves giving hugs and kisses and is so sensitive to her mommy's needs. She loves to protect her little brother. She is always worried about him when he cries and usually when he is crying she will start to cry because she is sad for him. It is so sweet. She LOVES to dance, run, and sing! She loves trying to jump. For months she has been trying to jump and actually get some air. For now its like a gallop but I have a feeling she will be jumping on her own for real in no time.

Today we went to the Dr. for a follow up visit for Luke. Last week he was diagnosed with double ear infections. He was given a shot of antibiotics so I thought for sure everything would be ok. Well today when our AWESOME dr. was examining him I was given the news that he STILL has double ear infections. This is not a good thing seeing as though we are heading out west at the end of this week. A plane ride is not something you want to take a baby with double ear infections on. Yikes! I hope they clear up with this next round of antibiotics. Poor little guy!

I have been wanting to write about so many things lately but every time I think about them I am not at my computer and with my still sleep deprived brain, once I finally get down to it, I forget what it is that I wanted to write about. Right now I am letting the baby cry it out to sleep. He was such a good "going to bed sleeper," but the past couple of weeks I have taken over an hour to get him to sleep each night. I hate having to hear him cry so hard, but I know he knows how to self sooth (he found his thumb a while back). Usually he will cry a little find his thumb and then he is off to dreamland... NOT TONIGHT. He has been crying on and off for a half an hour already and it is at the point now where he is in a rage cry. I went in a couple of times, calmed him down and then it started all over again. I would prefer to do the pick up/put down method to sleep train him but the boy is so big I already has back problems. That is just not going to work for this baby. Arggggg.... I hate this!
Ok I am such a wimp... I totally caved! He is finally calm after some rocking, singing, and cuddling. When I put him back into bed he wasn't asleep but he was quiet, and still is. YEA!!! Hopefully he will doze off here soon. (an hour and a half after trying to put him down in the first place). Man oh man! This is the part of motherhood that really wears you out!
Addy and Luke are really growing up. Tonight we had a treat and went out to dinner as a family. While at the restaurant, we met a family with two red heads also. 4 year old girl and 2 year old boy. The mom looked at me and said this is you in 2 years... It is so hard to imagine my little ones that old but then again, I can't believe that they are already almost 2 years and 5 months old. Luke is really starting to move around. He has yet to roll over, but at nearly 18 lbs (yes that's right 18 lbs!), it is a little difficult! He is squirming all around and smiling tons. I love when he screams out in delight. He loves being a lifted up in the air and flown around like an airplane ( and its a pretty good workout for me). He is the best cuddler. Addy was never really a cuddler as a baby. Luke just sort of melts into me. I LOVE IT!
Addy too is at a fantastic stage. I will save all the details of her latest learning's for her "2 year old" post, but today we were talking with her and I asked her...
"Addy who is the first president of the United States of America?" (we have been learning about the presidents these past few days)
She stated proudly after a bit of contemplation
As any proud mother should I exclaimed "YEA, good job Addy!)
then went on... "What is Bill's last name?" (Meaning Bill Clinton)
she said timidly "Bush?" (that one got me laughing!)
Kids are so fascinating. Tonight while we were giving Addy a bath she was pretending to swim as she usually does. Most of the time she is in the ocean or lake but tonight she said she was swimming like "Tay Tay." Referring to my niece Taylor who is on a swim team (and last time we visited them two months ago, we went to see one of her swim meets.) I was shocked that she actually remembered that because it was not something we had talked about since our trip. She then goes on to say "hat, hat like Tay Tay swimming." Oh and yes Taylor was wearing a swim cap while at her swim meet. This girl has a better memory then me! WOW!
