Pink Potty

So, for a while I have been avoiding this. I was hoping that maybe it was just a short lived phase, but alas I am wrong. I think this time Addy is really ready to be potty trained. When you have a child refusing to wear her diaper and screaming for the potty as you force it on her, you know that its about time to start the process. I just thought that she was a little young, but when your ready your ready I guess! This weekend we went out to buy Addy her first potty. Of course she picked the pink one. She has not wanted to let that potty out of her sight since Saturday. She wants to sit on it 24/7, although she has yet to "go" in it. In fact this morning she was telling me she had to go "pee pee" and so I had her sitting on the potty for a really REALLY long time. She started to get squirmy so I got her up and as soon as I turned my head she peed all over the floor. CLASSIC!!! Today we are going to buy some pull ups and big girl panties. Hopefully this won't be a long process.  Any potty training advice would be great!

Elinor and Ken Engagement photo shoot

Today I had the privilege of doing a photo shoot for this wonderful couple. They recently met, fell in love and now are planning a spring wedding. They both say that they had to wait a long time but have finally found their soul mates. So sweet...

The Latest

Seriously we are still sick here in our house. I feel so bad for my poor little ones. They are really getting picked on this cold/flu season. Both are on antibiotics now but one day after they started Addy spiked at a 104 fever and has been battling fevers ever since. The Dr. and I think that she picked up something else on top of her sinus infection. Such a bummer. These past few days it has been a lot of... Popsicles, midnight movie marathons (101 Dalmatians is the favorite as of late), "hold you Mommy," and creative and innovative ways to get an almost two year old to take her medicine (FlavorX is the way to go). At least it is sunny here today and both the kids are napping (ahhhh... a moment of peace... I am sure that won't last long though. So I am going to savor it while I have it.) I look forward to the day when James can sleep in our room again (Addy has kicked him out of our bed the past few nights so that she can sleep with mommy and watch her movies at 2am). Here are some fun pictures of our trip to AZ last week. We miss you all. Addy, in the moments she has been feeling well since we returned has pretend to go visit "aza-nona" AKA Arizona. She gets her purse on one hand, her sunglasses on and tells me she is going on the airplane. "Bye Mom" is her final statement as she walks to the front door. Then she usually turns around, looks at me and says in an excited voice "back!" (meaning she is back from her trip). Then we talk about all of the fun things she did on her trip and everyone that she saw. It is quite entertaining. Luke is also smiling and laughing a ton. He is such a content happy baby. I took a cute video of him recently smiling and laughing. I will post it soon.

Here is another cute little story I forgot to blog about...

Stage: Family night...we just finished discussing with Addy what the Holy Ghost was.

James: "So Addy thats why its so important to always remember the Holy Ghost"
Addy: (looking up at James) "Holy Goat?"
James: (trying not to laugh, looking sweetly at Addy) "Yeah Addy, the Holy Goat"

Peaceful slumber

Addy's video message

Both kiddies slept through the night last night. Luke slept from 8pm until 6am again. I am so excited that this might be his new habit! YEA!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed. Addy is still feeling sick but she got a great night sleep...from 7:30pm until 9am this morning. She usually never sleeps past 7:30am. She needed the sleep that's for sure. This video clip is of Addy when she woke up this morning. Poor thing...

Sick yet again!

So sick!

So I thought we had beaten the sickness in our household, yet, it was not meant to be. Addy came down with another cough and cold on Sunday which has progressively gotten worse since then. She was up most of the night with a fever, thrashing around in our bed because she would not let me put her down in her crib. Let me just paint the picture...clining, screaming, runny nose, burning head. How could I let her cry by herself when she is so sick. At least James got somewhat of a goodnight sleep. I made him sleep in Addy's room because I didn't want him to have to be up all night with her as well. Also Luke slept through the night last night for the first time! He did not make a peep from 8pm until 6am. It was so nice! At least I didn't have to balance between both kids during the night. That would have been interesting.

Today is going OK. I am giving Addy some meds to help with her fever so when she is taking them she feels much better. Luke is struggling today too. He woke up from his nap screaming in pain. I think he is struggling with some tummy issues. I hope he is not getting sick too. It is amazing how, as a mother, you can find a way to nurture and care for two sick babies who both want to be held and cuddled at the same time. I carried them both up and down the stairs several times already today and when I do it every time Addy looks at me and says "strong mommy." I hope this all leaves our house soon, and I pray that James, Luke and I don't catch what Addy has.

These are some pictures of our latest trip to Dallas to visit family. We had a great time with Lyssa and the fam. My niece was baptized and we were so happy we could be there to support her. Addy was her little shadow. She called Tay-tay her "best buddie."Lyssa and family thanks for letting us come this weekend! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see you all again!

Addy and Taylor. Best buddies!

James and Addy both fell asleep on the flight home. I thought it was so cute I had to capture the moment!
